Essential oils and HORMONE HEALTH

Hormones, we all have them, and we are all bombarded with things that are not good for them!

Did you know the average woman applies around 300 chemicals on her body, per day! Many of those potentially acting as endocrine disruptors, or even described as carcinogenic.

While we can’t always control our hormones, it’s nice to know that essential oils can lend us a helping hand in balancing our hormones and overcoming symptoms of hormones that are out of control.

But just before we get into detail, here is a brief introduction for those of you who are not familiar with essential oils yet:

What are essential oils?

They are nature’s volatile aromatic compounds generated within shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes and seeds. They are the “life force” of the plant, essential for the plant to exist. So truly, an essential oil is just a very concentrated form of the plant, in the drops in the bottle

Now, when talking about essential oils, the

PURITY of the oil is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE!

Not all essential oils are “created” equal. In growing my understanding of essential oils and “where they come from.”

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, consult a health professional before use.

Secondly

As women, we often associate hormones with certain stages in our lives, like puberty, pregnancy or menopause. The truth is that they influence us daily, regardless of what “stage” we may find ourselves in.

Did you know that many of us suffer from low Progesterone levels and do not even realise it?

My friend and I were laughing about a time when her co-worker knew she must have been pregnant because he told her “You’re nicer.” Progesterone is the “nice” hormone. When women are moody with their cycle, it usually means they need more progesterone. Progesterone is of course important for more than just making women nicer. It’s essential for fertility as well as for hormone balance. Most women need a supplemental boost of progesterone while addressing underlying reasons for needing to supplement. I used to recommend creams but have since learned that progesterone creams stay in the fatty layer of skin which has the potential to interfere with the body’s natural production of hormones.

That’s why Progessence Plus serum has been a blessing for many women. It is a serum, not a cream, and combined with carefully-selected therapeutic essential oils and a small amount of USP progesterone, it has incredible bioavailability and absorption into the bloodstream. This means less progesterone is required to get the job done and it won’t sit in the fatty layer of skin.
